Hey there! I'm glad you've taken the brave step to explore counseling and stop by my site. I'd love to better get to know you, but in the meantime, here's a little info about me...
I grew up in the Dallas area and my love for people led me to Texas A&M to study psychology. During my years at A&M, I had the amazing opportunity to work at Pine Cove as a counselor as well as other organizations such as the Student Counseling Helpline.
After A&M, I went on to graduate with my masters degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2008. At that time, I also became certified Prepare Enrich facilitator in order to better work with engaged couples as well as couples in conflict.
Since graduating from DTS, I have gained experience working with individuals, adolescents, couples, families, and groups through organizations such as The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center, Galaxy Counseling Center, Nexus Recovery Center, as well as in the private practice setting.
I have also completed Postpartum Support International's "Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder Components of Care" certificate course as well as their "Advanced Psychotherapy" certificate course.
Some of the largest periods of personal and spiritual growth for me occurred after the births of my 2nd and 3rd children, as I experienced postpartum depression and anxiety. These times of my life helped enhance my counseling skills and deepened my ability to comfort others in the same ways that I have been comforted by God (paraphrased from 2 Corinthians 1:3-5).
I am married to my best friend, Ryan, and we have 4 children. I am a dog lover, a plant lady, avid reader, and lover of God's Word. I enjoy serving in many ministries at our church and am so grateful for my friends and community there.
